What is Markdown?
Markdown is a simple way to format text using ordinary characters. You write **bold** for bold, start a line with # for a heading and - for a bullet point. It is used for README files on GitHub, documentation, notes apps, forums and many blogging platforms. Web pages, however, need HTML. This converter turns your Markdown into clean HTML and shows a live preview as you type.
How to use the converter
- Type or paste Markdown on the left. The preview updates instantly.
- Copy the generated HTML code, or download it as a complete HTML page.

Which Markdown flavour is supported?
The converter uses marked, a fast, widely used open-source Markdown parser, with GitHub Flavored Markdown turned on. That adds tables, strikethrough with ~~text~~, fenced code blocks and automatic links. The preview is cleaned with DOMPurify, so any unsafe HTML or script in the Markdown is not run on this page.
Frequently asked questions
Can I include raw HTML in Markdown?
Yes. Markdown allows HTML tags, and they are passed through to the output. For safety, scripts are removed from the preview only.
Does it add CSS styling?
No. The output is plain semantic HTML, so it takes on the styles of the website where you paste it.
Can I convert plain text without Markdown?
Yes, use Text to HTML, which wraps paragraphs and line breaks automatically.
