Turn text backwards
Reversed text is used for puzzles, riddles, social media posts, mirror-writing games, programming practice and checking palindromes. This tool offers four kinds of reversal and correctly keeps emoji and combined characters, such as Hindi letters with vowel signs, in one piece when it flips them.
How to use it
- Type or paste your text. The letter-reversed version appears straight away.
- Click a button to choose a different kind of reversal.
- Copy the result.
The four reversal modes
| Mode | "Hello big world" becomes |
|---|---|
| Reverse letters | dlrow gib olleH |
| Reverse word order | world big Hello |
| Reverse each word | olleH gib dlrow |
| Reverse line order | Last line first (each line unchanged) |
What is a palindrome?
A palindrome reads the same forwards and backwards once spaces, punctuation and case are ignored. Famous examples include "madam", "racecar", "Never odd or even" and "A man, a plan, a canal: Panama". The Hindi word "नमन" and the number 12321 are palindromes too. The tool checks automatically and tells you if your text is one.
Why do emoji sometimes break in other reversers?
Many characters are stored as several code units. An emoji with a skin tone, a flag or a Devanagari syllable like "स्ते" combines multiple parts. Reversing the parts one by one scrambles them into broken symbols. This tool reverses whole "grapheme clusters", meaning what you see as one character, so the output stays readable.
Frequently asked questions
Is reversed text the same as mirror text?
Not exactly. Reversed text uses normal letters in the opposite order. For letters that are flipped as well, try the Upside Down Text tool.
Can I use reversed text on Instagram or WhatsApp?
Yes. It uses ordinary characters, so it can be pasted anywhere.
Is reversing text a way to hide a message?
Only from a casual glance. Anyone can reverse it back in seconds.
