A simple notepad that remembers
Sometimes you need a quick place to jot something down: a phone number, a shopping list, a draft message, meeting notes or a piece of text you are moving between apps. This online notepad opens instantly, has no distractions and saves what you type automatically in your browser. When you come back on the same device and browser, your note is still there.
How to use the notepad
- Start typing. The status line shows when your note was last saved, plus word and character counts.
- Give the note a title, which becomes the file name when you download it.
- Click Download .txt to keep a permanent copy, or Open a .txt file to continue editing an existing text file.
- Click Clear note when you are finished.
Where are my notes stored?
Your note is saved with your browser's local storage, a small private storage area on your own device. It is never sent to our server, so we cannot read it, and it does not sync to other devices. This also means:
- Notes stay until you clear them or clear your browser's site data.
- Private or incognito windows delete the note when the window is closed.
- A note written on your phone will not appear on your laptop.
For anything important, download a copy as a .txt file.
Handy ways to use it
- Clean copy-paste: paste formatted text here and copy it again to remove fonts, colors and links.
- Draft safely: write long forms, emails or posts here first, so a page refresh or crash on another site does not lose your work.
- Quick to-do list: keep today's tasks open in a browser tab.
